Besides all the legit streaming apps with fair content rights, there’s a swarm of APKs which are known to provide online video streaming. The difference? They do not possess the right to distribute content or make it available to the public. The operation itself might be shady, but the service is top-notch for the end-users.
Users who are tired of paying premium prices for various streaming platforms seek apps that can allow them to stream movies in HD quality for free. And that’s where apps such as BeeMovie come into play. They aren’t available officially on the Play Store, but you can find APKs on dozens of tech websites.
What is BeeMovie?
BeeMovie APK is an application that allows users to stream videos for free. It enables users to watch the latest movies and TV shows across multiple devices without having to spend $40-$50/month. With BeeMovie, you get access to a plethora of genres, such as Action, Romance, Horror, Comedy, Drama, and Thriller, to name a few.
Viewers love it because they can find premium movies and web-series from top platforms such as Netflix, Hotstar, HBO, and Amazon. If you were to subscribe to each of these services, you’d have to spend at least $30-50/per month.
Apart from the premium content, you get to choose from a wide range of regional cinema as well. BeeMovie doesn’t just provide Hollywood and Bollywood movies; you can even find regional industries on the network such as Punjabi, Tollywood, Nollywood, and Bhojpuri, among others.
If you’re interested in watching the trending movies and fastest-growing Asian TV Series, BeeMovie is the right platform for you. This app has increased the demand for the Asian film market by allowing users to watch premium content from countries such as India, Pakistan, South Korea, China, and Japan.
What’s fascinating about this platform is you get to watch not just what’s online, but you can even stream your local files on the network; thus, if you’ve already downloaded a movie or have a full season of a TV show on your phone. You can go ahead and watch the content using BeeMovie.
What should you expect from the BeeMovie App?
BeeMovie supports a variety of third-party video players such as VLC, and MX. If you wish to watch content using those players, you can do so. I personally like streaming on MX because it provides much flexibility and additional input, which enhances the streaming experience. However, you’re not just restricted to these two; you can even choose some other media player.
No rooting required
Most Android and iPhone owners either have to jailbreak or root their devices to be able to enjoy the unofficial third-party apps. In recent years, the trend has changed, and the APKs today don’t require you to root your Android device. Just download the app, install it, and start streaming your favorite TV channel right from your device without jeopardizing its value.
You can download any content you want from the website. Be it a movie or a TV show; you can download the content in any desired resolution and watch it later. Most people, including me, like to download content to watch it when commuting using public transport. Long travel routes require a long content library, and that’s where my personal collection comes in handy.
Subtitles & Language support
You can access subtitles in over 14 content, including Hindi, English, German, Spanish, French, and more. You can even stream the platform in multiple languages. When you’re installing the app, you’ll get to choose your preferred language. Other than the language itself, you can even request content that’s missing from the site.
Bee Movie app’s biggest strength isn’t its streaming capabilities. While the app allows you to stream titles in SD, HD, and even 4K quality, it has got the basics of streaming wrong as the stream would buffer, lag, and even close on its own. I don’t know what to say. I mean sure, it does allow you to stream in HD and Ultra HD quality, but what’s the point when the content won’t play at all?
BeeMovie App Information
While the majority of the quality streaming apps occupy more than 50-100 MB of space in your device, BeeMovie gets the job done under 10 MB. Downloading the app is hassle-free, and streaming itself is not much of a problem. If you have an Android version above 4.0, you’ll be able to install it and stream it without any issue.
In addition to general APK download, you can even download it via Bluestack or Virtualbox. This will allow you to enjoy BeeMovie on your TV using a Firestick device or an Android box. As far as the popularity of this app goes, it’s been downloaded by more than 3.5 million users from Uptodown alone.
How to access BeeMovie?
You can access BeeMovie from your Android device. You can cast it on your TV using a firestick or Android box. Just type the word ‘BeeMovie APK,’ and you’d find the Uptodown link on the first search result. Click on it and download the APK from that site. I won’t advise you to try other sites because I’ve only downloaded the app from this platform, and so I won’t recommend you dive in troubled waters when a safer option is available.
The light purple and white color combination throughout the app looks quite unique. It’s one of the lesser-used color schemes in the app world. The entire content arrangement is top-notch and helps the users to find content in no time.
The header section has a logo on the left and three options on the right – ‘Search Bar,’ ‘Watch Later,’ and ‘User Account.’ Under the main header, you’ll find a cool full-width banner at the top followed by two sections of thumbnails. Based upon your screen size, you might be able to see more. But on Pixel 3, I could only see the main banner and three thumbnails from the TV Show section. Above the graphics, you have tabs such as Hollywood, Bollywood, KDrama, and Latest Movies.
The interface, including the menu option, is quite different on the inner page. First, you’d enter a specific category which will showcase three vertical thumbnails with movies in that content bucket. Once you choose an option, you’ll move towards the streaming page wherein; you’ll find a streaming player followed by the content information and social sharing options. One of the inner pages allows you to sort and filter content based upon your preference.
As mentioned before, there’s no dearth of content on this platform. You’ll find dozens of top movies and TV shows from around the world. There are many film categories that you can choose from on this platform, including action, romance, comedy, science-fiction, musicals and thriller.
You won’t just find the latest flicks but also some classic titles. At the time of writing this review, I found Hobbs & Shaw, Wonder women, Parasite, X-Men, Batman vs. Superman, among many other titles. For Bollywood titles, there were movies such as Baahubali, Rustom, One Night Stand, and Raghu Raghav 2.0.
As mentioned earlier, I downloaded BeeMovie on my Pixel from the Uptodown website. The installation was seamless, thanks to the absence of any third-party surveys and forceful app downloads. Once I downloaded the app, I started navigating, and the experience was quite smooth. The menus, interactive banners, and thumbnails worked well without any issue. Finally, it was streaming time, and I have to say that I’m not completely thrilled with what I saw. The app performed up to 60% of my experience. So, it’s fair to say that I wasn’t happy.
I quickly went to the forums to check out what’s wrong with the app, and it turns out that BeeMovie has lost its spark. There were dozens of 1-star reviews with users claiming that it has lost its charm, and now it’s only a shadow of its former self. And this didn’t help the overall streaming experience as it got worse with lagging and the playback issues.
Suggestions I have for BeeMovie
I feel it’s pivotal that the developers understand users’ pain points and fix everything that’s wrong with its streaming capabilities. What is the use of the app if it’s unable to provide stable, let alone quality streaming?
BeeMovie is a good app with great content diversity. However, it lacks stable streaming, which can defeat the purpose of downloading this app in the first place. It’s 3.7 ratings on Uptodown along with the general user consensus, which puts the app in a tough spot. Would I recommend it? Yes. Why? The developers may fix the streaming issues, and then you have a spotless app on your phone. So, yes. I’d give it a chance.
