Choosing the right movie and TV streaming service can be a difficult and stressful decision. You might find the process arduous, costly, and time-consuming. With such an abundance of different streaming services on the market for you to choose from, it can be overwhelming to weed through them all and figure out which will be the best for your individual needs. Plus, there is the fact that each and every one of these separate streaming sites usually come with their own monthly fees. And these fees add up quickly, believe me.
When it comes down to it, though, each streaming service comes with its own set of strengths and weaknesses. Hulu, for example, tends to do a great job when it comes to providing users with something akin to the traditional cable TV experience. For starters, Hulu does, after all, offer a Hulu Live TV option. But even beyond that, it is a great streaming site and app for anyone who likes to keep up with their favorite shows as they air. For many popular shows, Hulu lets its basic level members stream TV shows 24 hours after they air. That being said, Hulu has not quite been able to crack the code of original content to the same extent as some of its competitors.
When it comes to the best in original content, of the big three streaming platforms, streamers tend to gravitate toward either Netflix or Amazon Prime Video. Netflix, for instance, offers so much original comedy that it has become a joke in and of itself within the comedy community that they are eventually going to give a standup special to every comedian in the industry. Plus, of course, Netflix just this year released an instant classic in the form of Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, which was critically acclaimed and very commercially successful.
And Amazon Prime Video, of course, has an impressive roster of its own when it comes to the original content. From Man in the High Castle to The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Amazon Prime seems to be excelling at dramatic series. Plus, it allows you to easily and conveniently access additional channels like HBO and Showtime, all from the Amazon Prime Video home page. However, Prime Video often gets flack for offering the slowest buffering speeds and lowest video qualities of all the mainstream video-on-demand services. So, as I said, each platform has its ups and its downs.
Of course, you are not beholden to choosing just one of these services (or the numerous that I have not listed). But it is important to note how quickly the price tags do start to add up. Say you want access to everything that interests you in the world of movie and TV streaming. Well, with four or five streaming accounts, you could easily be paying up to $60 or $70 a month – and add on an extra $60 a month if you want access to live cable TV. Obviously, not everyone can afford this kind of monthly bill when it comes to their entertainment budget!
Luckily, though, for us, there is plenty of free movie and TV streaming sites out there on the web as well. You just have to know how to look for them! Well, actually, on second thought, maybe you don’t. Because that is what I am here for! I have explored every corner of internet streaming in order to bring you the best of the best when it comes to free movie and TV video streaming sites so that you don’t have to. And one thing that I have found is the fact that, well, as is the case with any kind of site, not all movie and TV streaming sites are created equal. Far from it.
Far too many free streaming sites, sadly, are little more than just glorified ad space. In other words, the movies and shows won’t load (they never existed on the site to begin with). Another common problem with free streaming sites is the fact that many of them are riddled in viruses and trackers. You definitely have to be careful when looking for a new free movie and TV streaming site, that’s for sure.
One thing that you will want to think about investing in before exploring the world of free movie and TV streaming is a solid Virtual Private Network (VPN). This will protect your anonymity and privacy while you browse the internet, making you virtually invisible. Alongside this, having a good antivirus program and an ad block extension will go a long way to both ensure that you will be safe (on any site) and have the most enjoyable experience possible (by eliminating, or at least cutting down on, advertisements).
Of course, I will never lead you astray or feature a site that will put you at risk. That being said, you can never be too safe, right? Besides, sites exchange ownership and change policies all the time. Always better to play it safe when it comes to your online activity. But I will always do my best to bring you only the most legitimate sites. And the free streaming site that we will be taking a look at today is called Los Movies. Pretty easy to remember right? It gets even simpler, too, when you type in the entire domain name: losmovies.fun. Without further ado, let’s see if Los Movies truly is as fun as it claims to be, shall we?
Unfortunately, little tends to be known about these smaller free movie and TV streaming sites. I was unable to find any information on where, when, or why Los Movies was started. However, it is probably a fair assumption to say that Los Movies was founded to bring the world a free movie and TV streaming alternative to the big-name (and pricey) movie streaming options currently on the market. And, at that, Los Movies certainly seems to excel.
The site design of Los Movies is actually not too shabby. Especially in comparison to other comparable sites out there. Los Movies looks pretty good. It is not too cluttered, it is well-organized, and it has chosen a distinctive aesthetic for itself, with a memorable (if very familiar) Hollywood-inspired logo that pops right off of the page.
The layout of Los Movies, though, is fairly standard. You will find a site menu bar at the top that makes for easy and simple navigation, a few new featured titles right below that, and then a browsable archive of titles that spans over 2,000 pages. Don’t worry, though, you can also filter titles by Popular, Latest, Movies with Subtitles, and HD 770p; you can browse alphabetically, by genre, media type (movie or TV show), actor, or directory; and you can always, of course, make use of the search bar to type in whatever you happen to be looking for.
As I just touched upon, Los Movies has a robust archive of films and TV shows. All of which can be streamed absolutely free of charge. Some of their titles are available in HD (with no charge or signup required). So, that is definitely something that could make you gravitate towards this free streaming site over the others. Another thing to consider is the fact that Los Movies offers films and shows with subtitles as well – something that is surprisingly rare, it seems, in the free movie streaming world.
Desktop and Mobile Experience
Unfortunately, there is no Los Movies app. But that is to be expected. These smaller free sites seldom have mobile apps. That being said, the site is perfectly optimized for mobile browsers – have an equally enjoyable and user-friendly experience whether you watch on your laptop or on your iPhone or Android device.
Suggestions that I have for Los Movies
Well, for starters, an app would be nice. It would also be nice, more importantly, if Los Movies offered a premium membership for a few bucks a month that would get rid of the site’s pesky ads. Word to the wise: my antivirus software blocked something harmful from one of the ads. So, proceed with caution! That is obviously something that Los Movies needs to take care of. And pronto.
