How to Live Stream the Premier League on Your Mobile from UK

The Premier League – it's a national obsession, isn't it? The roar of the crowd, the last-minute screamers, the controversial VAR decisions (we've all got opinions on those!). But what if you can't be glued to the telly for every match? Life happens, after all. Maybe you're on the train, stuck at a wedding (don't tell the happy couple!), or simply fancy watching the game in the garden with a brew. Fear not, football fanatic, because streaming the Premier League on your mobile in the UK is easier than you might think.

The Big Players: Who's Got the Goods?

In the UK, the rights to broadcast Premier League matches are primarily shared between a few major players. This means you'll likely need a subscription to one or more of these services to get your comprehensive football fix.

Sky Sports

The old guard and still a heavyweight champion of Premier League coverage. Sky Sports broadcasts the lion's share of matches throughout the season. If you're a Sky TV customer with a Sky Sports subscription, you're already halfway there. Their Sky Go app is your golden ticket. It allows you to stream the Sky Sports channels you're subscribed to on your mobile or tablet. You just need to download the app, log in with your Sky ID, and away you go.

What if you're not a Sky TV customer? Don't despair! Sky also offers NOW (formerly NOW TV). This is their contract-free streaming service. You can purchase a Sky Sports Day Pass or a Month Pass. The Month Pass is usually better value if you're a serious fan. Simply sign up online, download the NOW app, and you can stream the Sky Sports channels directly to your mobile. It's a flexible option if you don't want to commit to a long-term contract.

TNT Sports (formerly BT Sport)

Another major broadcaster with a significant number of exclusive Premier League games. If you have BT Broadband, you might already have access to TNT Sports or be able to add it to your package at a discounted rate. Similar to Sky, if you're a TNT Sports subscriber through BT TV or another provider like Virgin Media or EE, you can usually stream the channels through their respective TV Everywhere apps or the discovery+ app, which is now the home for TNT Sports streaming.

For those without a relevant TV package, you can often subscribe to TNT Sports directly via discovery+. This gives you access to all their live channels and on-demand content through the discovery+ app on your mobile.

Amazon Prime Video

The online retail giant has also muscled its way into the Premier League arena, typically snapping up the rights to a couple of full rounds of fixtures per season, often around Christmas.

Getting Set Up: App-solutely Essential

Once you've figured out which broadcaster(s) you'll be using, the next step is to get their app(s) on your phone.

Download and install the relevant app. It's usually a quick process, depending on your internet speed.

Have your subscription details ready for the log-in screen. For Sky Go and some TV provider apps, this will often be the same login you use for your main TV account. For NOW and direct discovery+ subscriptions, it'll be the details you used when signing up.

Check your connection! Streaming live sports uses a fair bit of data. If you're not on Wi-Fi, keep an eye on your mobile data allowance. Nobody wants a nasty bill at the end of the month. A stable Wi-Fi connection is generally recommended for the best viewing experience and to avoid buffering. Most home broadband packages will be more than capable, but public Wi-Fi can sometimes be a bit hit-and-miss.

Navigate to the live sports section. Most apps will have a clear "Live," "Sports," or "Channels" section where you can find the Premier League matches.

Finally, don’t forget to download apps for the UK’s top betting sites, too, so you can place a cheeky bet on your favourite team while watching the action unfold on-screen.

So, Are You Ready for Kick-Off?

Streaming the Premier League on your mobile in the UK is a fantastic way to stay connected to the beautiful game, wherever you are. It requires a bit of planning in terms of subscriptions, but the flexibility and convenience are well worth it for any die-hard fan. So, get your apps downloaded, fire up your proxy server or VPNs if you’re overseas, get your subscriptions sorted, and prepare for another rollercoaster season of Premier League football, all from the comfort of your pocket!
