Gaming Streaming Sites - Watch & Record Playing Games

Is there a site where I can watch the best video game players play the most popular games?

If you are looking for a site that lets you watch expert video game players work their way through some of the hottest games out right now, you are in luck. Not only is there a site where you can watch gamers live to stream their gameplay of your favorite video games, but there are also many different sites out there that cater to this niche. In fact, video game streaming sites comprise one of the fastest-growing specialties in the world of streaming sites. There are, actually, so many gaming streaming sites on the web, choosing the right one for you might be something of a difficult decision to make.

There are new video games streaming sites that are going live all the time. Whether you are looking to just be a viewer and see how others get passed particularly tricky challenges in some of the most popular video games out there today, or you feel like you have what it takes to throw your hat in the ring and live to stream your own gaming sessions, you have an abundance of sites to choose from.

But the fact that there are tons of sites out there that allow gamers to live to stream their gaming sessions is not even the best part of all of this. Most of these sites allow you to watch video game streamers absolutely free of charge. Sites like Twitch, Facebook Gaming, YouTube Gaming, HLTV, etc. have completely opened up the world of gaming, merging it with the ever-popular world of live streaming in order to create a brand new subcultural hub for those of us who just cannot get enough of watching, playing, and discussing our favorite video games online.

Choosing the right one, then, is just a matter of doing a bit of research and browsing around to figure out which gaming streaming site caters to the kinds of games that you care about most, has the most entertaining streamers, and offers the best user experience possible. Of course, reading through my comprehensive list of reviews will be the best place to start if you are looking for the best gaming streaming site that the internet has to offer!

What are the most popular games to watch on these sites?

These days, it seems as if there is a live stream of just about every game on the market. The bigger the site, of course, the more likely it is to have a live streamer who specializes in a certain game (especially if the game in question is a little more niche). But, for the most part, there are certain games that are much more frequently live streamed than others. There are just games, as I am sure you already know, that are more interesting to watch other people play.

The most popular live streaming channels, however, on Twitch, if we can use that as an example, are Call of Duty: Warzone, Fortnite, League of Legends, Minecraft, Counterstrike, Overwatch, and Season 04. But it seems fair to say, based on the constantly released new editions of the game, Call of Duty (be it Warzone, Modern Warfare, etc.) is probably the most popularly watched live-streamed game on these sites. Minecraft, however, is swiftly rising up in popularity too though.

The moral of the story, though, is this: no matter what game you are looking to watch people live stream, you will most likely be able to find it on at least one of the gaming streaming sites that I have linked in my list. It will just be a matter of browsing around a bit and finding it for yourself (but, hey, that’s half the fun, if you ask me!)

Do I need an expensive computer to use these gaming streaming sites?

That depends on what you want to do on these gaming streaming sites. The short answer to this question, though, is “no.” You won’t need a fancy gaming computer or anything of the like in order to watch gamers’ live streams. These sites work similarly to YouTube or Facebook’s live streaming components. You just click on a stream and enjoy the show. These sites are relatively low maintenance, and the good ones are very intuitive and take little to no time at all to figure out how to use them.

That being said, if you, yourself, are looking to become a gaming streamer, well, then you might want to consider a computer upgrade. The best live streamers tend to have top of the line gaming computers. This way, they can guarantee that there will be no lag on their gameplay and that their live stream, thus, will be crystal-clear and immediate. Live streamers tend to have the best of the best when it comes to graphics cards (allowing for smooth, HD gameplay), as well as top-notch webcams (for HD live streaming of them as they play the games). You might view this as an investment, though, if you think you have what it takes to be a professional gaming live streamer, as it is possible to monetize and make money from your channel (more on that in a bit).

How much will it cost me to watch these experts play video games?

This depends entirely on the gaming streaming site in question, of course, but, for the most part, many of these gaming streaming sites do not charge you for membership. Some of them will offer premium level upgrades, though, to unlock all content and allow you to live stream, but for access to just the basic content, just watching people play video games in real-time, you should not have to worry about a monthly fee on most of these sites.

Twitch is a good example of a top-notch free gaming streaming site. Simply log into your free account and, voila, you have hundreds of live gaming streams to enjoy. Where the money comes into play, however, is when certain streamers start charging for certain content. It’s really up to the streamer, though, and if you deem a certain gamer worth paying for, then perhaps that will be worth it for you.

But the short answer is that, yes, there are plenty of sites that will allow you to watch gaming streams at no charge. There are some that charge, and there are some individual users that have chosen to monetize certain content (even within the free sites). Again, finding out which sites work for you and what you are willing to pay (or not pay) will be a matter of looking around a bit. Allow my list of reviews to help guide you through this process!

Can I make money on gaming streaming sites?

Although it is not extremely common, it is true that some gamers do end up making money on these gaming streaming sites. As I just mentioned, there are various ways in which a gamer can monetize their channel. If you become popular enough on Twitch, for example, you will be able to make a little extra cash – at least in order to continue affording your games and your hardware upgrades. It is extremely rare, I should note, for gaming streamers to make a living doing nothing but live streaming their gameplay. That is not to say that it has never happened, of course, because it does occasionally, but it is not common at all.

However, it is still extremely exciting to learn that there is the possibility to make any money at all doing what you love, gaming. And that makes it worth looking into regardless of how much you could make!

Who are the best streamers in the world?

There may be a bit of disagreement over who “the best” gaming streamers in the world are, seeing as it is pretty subjective, but I can tell you who some of the most popular ones are. Currently, one of the most followed streamers on Twitch goes by the alias Dr. Disrespect. He plays primarily Call of Duty, he entertains viewers by putting on an exaggerated macho personality.

Then there is the mysterious Dakotaz. He is a very skilled Fortnite player, and, unlike most other gaming streamers, she chooses not to show his face. Dakotaz has over 4 million followers on Twitch.

Lastly, the most popular game streamer of all time is, easily, Tfue. With over 7 million followers, Tfue has won $500,000 playing Fortnite. So, although it is rare like I said, if you truly dedicate yourself to your game, like Tfue, perhaps you could make an impressive living live streaming your games.
