Streema is a streaming platform that offers radio and television streaming content. It is one of the many modern radio directory-based platforms where music lovers can enjoy their favorite radio stations in the best bitrate quality. Streema is not just restricted to a website, it also has a dedicated app called the ‘Simple Radio’ which acts as a directory for leading digital stations from across the globe. You can find the music you love by sorting the channels based on location or genre. Broadcast radio as a term has taken a hit in recent times, however, in practice, it’s still the same.
Streema was discovered by three partners – Richard, Juan, and Martin. They believed in providing the world with their favorite stations that could be accessed quickly and in an easy way. Years later, Streema is one of the most user-friendly radio streaming apps which allows you to listen to favorite radio stations from across the world.
Why should you stream on Streema?
I love Streema because of its radio directory. It offers 20,000 stations and covers almost all the major music genres from around the world. You can stream content which is ranked by popularity. You can check out the most popular stations and even list them as your favorites. You can create a playlist consisting of your favorite radio stations using the web interface.
Smooth Sign-up process
Signing up is free and quite hassle-free. Invite your friends, discover new music, create your playlist and choose your favorite stations without trouble. Streema’s mobile app allows you to sign-up using a Facebook account. If you want to create an account for the website, you can do so from the header section.
Radio on Streema
Finding your favorite stations has never been this easy. Find new songs, create playlists, listen to the music you prefer using an intuitive web interface. Doesn’t matter if you love pop, rock, dance, hip hop or tech, you’ll find the music of every genre on Streema. There are thousands of radio stations that you can access from the website and through the app. It allows you to listen to the radio channels in your country and those from around the world.
TV on Streema
Similar to USTVGO, Streema offers free to air live channels on its network. Thus, you can watch breaking news from all over the world. From your favorite television shows to the ones waiting to be discovered, you can find anything on Streema. A fascinating aspect of Streema is that it allows you to watch channels from different countries so you learn about different cultures, beliefs, tastes, and lifestyles.
You can access both television and radio on the Simple Radio app for iOS and Android. With this app, you get the same simplicity as the desktop into your mobile phone. The Simple Radio app makes tuning music extremely easy. And a testament to its excellence is its user base which exceeds 10 million users every month. Discover new radio stations through the directory and get involved with the Streema community.
Streema promised that it’ll roll out apps for not just Android but iOS devices as well. It truly delivered on its promise through the app and its mobile-friendly interface allows you to stream without an app. So, whether you’re streaming from Google Pixel XL or iPhone XR, you’ll get a responsive website perfectly designed for your display. Even if you were to use an outdated Blackberry phone, you’d still have a responsive website.
Streema might not be the most intuitive website in terms of design but it feels premium. Its clean interface on the homepage gets you off to a good start. As soon as I entered the website, the header section caught my eye. In addition, there are quite a few effective options capable of steering your entire streaming experience on the website.
The header section has a search bar on the left and five key options – Radio, TV, Sign in with Facebook, Create an Account and Sign in on the right. Thus, in terms of content experience, you can access Radio and TV right from the header. If you’re looking for something specific on the website, you can make use of the search bar.
If I were to describe Streema’s hero section in one word, that’d be CLEAN. With an illustration in the background and the blue layer on the top, the hero section looks super clean and attractive. A main headline ‘Welcome to the World of Online Radio’ is complemented with the main search bar which allows you to search radio stations or tv channels through name, genre, city or country.
Streema’s homepage body design picks up where the hero section left off. There are four cards highlighting four major radio networks – Radio Caraibes, Metro 95.1, Radio Tele Zenith and Aspen 102.3. Each of these stations has their fan following mentioned on a light blue backdrop. Another crucial information is the location listed just under the station number in grey.
As you scroll down, you’ll get four cards – Music, Talk, News, and Sports. Music has 5000+ Talk has 13500+ stations, News has 12000+ stations and Sports has 4000+ stations. Upon clicking any of the cards, you get taken to a dedicated page which allows you to browse those categories using region, featured countries and featured genres.
Based on my experience, the inner page on this website has to be the most underwhelming part of the website. It just doesn’t follow the homepage riches and rather turns into a bland page with listings and no creativity. There are ads right under the header, above the radio station – though it doesn’t interrupt the streaming, it does rub you the wrong way sometimes. The entire layout is unpleasant with sort options on the left ad horizontal channels on the right. On the horizontal menu, you’ll find categories, locations, listeners and ratings.
There’s no dearth of content on Streema. Whether you feel like streaming live TV or radio stations, Streema has you covered. It offers you access to AM, FM, online radio stations from your desktop and even your mobile phone.
You can enjoy 50,000+ worldwide radio stations which have increased from the earlier 20,000+ radio stations in the last couple of years. You can listen to the trending music, specific genres, live sports commentaries, breaking news and even talk shows.
I like music and podcasts on this streaming service but I absolutely love the sports content on this network. I’ve streamed NBA, EPL, Nascar, Football and even MLB on various radio stations using Streema. Some of my favorite radio stations include ESPN, NPR, KEXP, WBLS, La Mega, W Radio, Moody Radio, Radio 24, Radio Love, WBUR, Radio Caraibes, Radio Javan and WCBS to name a few.
Wide range of genres
While television networks mostly consist of free-to-air channels, radio stations offer you a list of genres such as Alternative, Blues, Caribbean, Country, Electronic, Hip-Hop, Indian, Latin, Reggae, Pop, Religion, Rock and RnB.
I absolutely loved streaming on the Streema website. Even the app experience was quite exceptional. I used my Pixel 3a, to stream sports commentary, and the audio was quite clear. There were no discrepancies or audio breakage. The stream was steady and showed no signs of dropping even when I stepped into areas where I often have streaming issues. This goes to show the strength of this streaming network. Simply exceptional.
Plans & Pricing
Streema is free to use. However, there are in-app purchases that you can make use of which range between $1-$3. With that said, Streema isn’t ad-free and thus you will need to bear with the ads on this network.
Suggestions I have for Streema
Though I appreciate Streema’s efforts, I want the developers to know that the ads sometimes are really annoying. Especially those coming from the big players such as Audible and Facebook. It appears as if they are trying to push their product down your throat. For instance, when I reject an ad, it just continues to pop up until I cancel it twice or thrice. This badgering experience sometimes makes me want to uninstall the app. This should give you a fair idea about my sentiment towards the user-experience balance.
Streema doesn’t play second fiddle to any of the directories and provides cutting edge features along with an extensive live radio library. Streema is seemingly ahead of the curve thanks to its technological features such as concurrent listener maps and apps even for a niche as remote as an apple watch. You should totally try its website and the app.
