People these days are inclined to use streaming apps, considering them as cord-cutting alternatives. They want the best service at an affordable price. Cable and Satellite TV has dominated the television industry for years. However, with the rise of digital streaming platforms and apps, viewers finally have an alternative. They no longer need to rely on cable and satellite TV service providers and keep paying $80-100 a month, especially when you can access services like Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, and CBS All Access under $50.
The rise of streaming apps has led to an influx of apps trying their luck in this competitive space. Not just independent developers but major corporations such as AT&T, Comcast, and CBS have decided they want a piece of the pie. While there is a certain credibility to these names and their efforts towards providing quality service, one particular app that is receiving a lot of heat in recent times is the TeaTV app.
What is TeaTV?
TeaTV is a content streaming app that allows you to watch movies online and even download the content. It is filled with quality content from major studios around the world. You’ll find all the top marvel and DC movies on this platform. TeaTV offers a comprehensive streaming experience and is loved by users for some time now. You can watch the trailer, read details, learn about the cast before streaming a particular title. The platform itself feels premium because of the design sense.
What should you expect from the TeaTV App?
TeaTv app does have a lot of movies, and TV shows that you can watch. It serves a wide range of audiences thanks to numerous categories such as Adventure, Action, Crime, Comedy, Drama, Horror, Thriller, Romance, Animation, Western, Biography, and much more. You can even find content using different sections and filters such as Top Rated Movies of All Time, Top Rated TV Shows, Marvel, and DC Comics, IMDB Top Rated, and much more.
Honestly, TeaTV App is nothing extraordinary when you compare it to those free apps available on the internet. The number of channels, along with on-demand content is pretty much the same. These services make bold claims but don’t have quality links to back it up. For instance, I was able to watch HD films but couldn’t find a single Anime link that worked. This shows that the developers are rather passive on the website and are just using the app as a source to generate side income.
Can you rely on the content you find on the website? Yes, that’s if you can get the links to work. Though the app itself is stable, the quality of links is not something to write home about. As I said, I was able to watch a few HD movies, and the playback was good, but for many of the older titles and TV shows specifically, there weren’t quality links that would lead me to the content in the first place.
I feel that the reliability issue stems from its inability to curb poor links. The working links should be segregated from the poor links, and due to the developer’s inactivity, the links aren’t updated, and that’s bringing down the whole experience.
TeaTV on face value does look premium. It boasts a refined aesthetic that really sets it apart from free competitive apps. Features such as in-depth filtering options using genre, release year really help to find the content in no time. Thus, I will give credit where it’s due. The aesthetics on this website are right on the money. Navigating around the website is fairly simple. There are well-defined menus which are complemented by thumbnails that look great on the dark background.
TeaTV is a free platform, and the developers don’t seem like they are into social service. So, as a result of that, you do need to put up with adverts. To be frank, I don’t mind ads as long as they don’t bring down the user experience. However, TeaTV ads are terrible, and timing is ridiculous. The pre-roll ad before the stream is okay, but frequent misclicks and redirection just show how hungry the developers are for money.
TeaTV App Information
Over 3 million users have installed this app via the Uptodown portal. This goes to show that the app was very popular a couple of years ago. However, due to the developer’s inactivity, it has lost its way. In terms of size, the app differs based upon your device. However, if you have an Android device above v4.4, you should be able to access the app without any issue.
How to access TeaTV?
There are multiple ways in which you can access TeaTV. You can either search for the term ‘TeaTV’ and click on the first link you find, or you can access it directly: TeaTV. The reason why I’m providing a direct link is that it’s’ much safer to download the app from the portal above than to land on a dicey APK website filled with malware and adware.
If you choose to download the app from any third-party website other than Uptodown, I’d recommend you use a VPN. It will help you download the package anonymously and will keep your data and identity safe.
TeaTV might no longer be a powerhouse in regard to streaming. However, it does have amazing design. The app interface – menus, navigation options, thumbnails, and content categorization makes browsing seamless on this platform. The dark background helps the thumbnails and the orange headers to stand out. Every category can be browsed in-depth using the arrow button towards the right. In terms of design, it’s right there in the premier league, and there’s no doubt about that.
The app homepage has several sections that catch your attention. First, the header section with its Chromecast option along with a search bar and a drop-down menu towards the left. If you click on the drop-down menu, you’ll find options such as ‘Discover,’ ‘Movies,’ ‘TV Shows,’ ‘HD Releases,’ ‘Calendar,’ ‘Live TV,’ and ‘Category.’ Under these, there are general user options such as ‘Collection,’ ‘Watchlist,’ and ‘Account.’ At the bottom, you’ll find four options – ‘Discover,’ ‘Movies,’ ‘TV Shows,’ and ‘Anime.’ There are no headers or sliders, and the homepage starts with sections such as ‘DC Extended,’ ‘Reddit Top 2017’, and ‘IMDB Top Rated.’
The inner pages of the app meet the brand guidelines and follow the tone and graphic standard set on the homepage. The streaming page starts with three options at the top – Back Navigation, Chromecast, and Search bar. Under that, you’ll find the video stream, followed by crucial information such as ‘Title,’ ‘Genre,’ ‘Release Year,’ ‘Ratings,’ ‘Runtime,’ and a CTA button that reads ‘Watch Now.’ Under that, you’ll find ‘Trailer,’ ‘Watchlist,’ and ‘Collection.’ As you scroll further, you’ll see a synopsis for every title that you click on. For instance, I clicked on Bumblebee and found two short paras summarizing the content.
There’s no denying the fact that TeaTV does have an incredible amount of content. And as impressive as it may sound, it’s also true that most of the links don’t work. So, can we really count and brag about the content depth when you can’t access the streams? To appreciate the past hard work, I can say that the site does have over 500+ popular titles, including movies, TV shows, and anime.
TeaTV, as a platform, has been in the streaming sphere for some time now. It allows users to watch movies and TV shows in HD quality. Other than the movies and TV shows, there are tons of popular American channels and sports. However, much to my dismay, I couldn’t get any link to work. The movies and TV shows worked fine after a couple of tries, but the live TV part wasn’t up to the mark. And to be honest, I didn’t fall for the initial claim made by the app, and so I wasn’t quite disappointed either.
Suggestions I have for TeaTV
I’m not even sure if the developers will ever read this, but if you do, there’s a lot you can achieve by staying active. You built a great platform, and with continuous efforts, TeaTV’s popularity can grow even further. Especially in a time when the majority of the developers are banking on Terrarium TV’s fall, TeaTV does have the opportunity to go mainstream among free steam lovers.
TeaTV has done 99% hard work but is failing to yield results because it has floundered the basics. If they add quality links to their apps, I see no reason why they cannot become a popular and mainstream streaming app. It already has the right design and interface; all it needs is a little attention from the developer. So, overall, I’d like you to give this platform a shot.
