The ways in which we watch movies nowadays are vastly different than they were even 10 years ago. In fact, as recently as the year 2006, Netflix was still mailing people DVDs. It wasn’t until 2007 that Netflix even began to look the way it does today, offering hundreds of movies and TV series for its members to stream on-demand. Up until relatively recently, if you wanted to watch a movie, you had to either go to the store to buy the DVD, see it in the movie theater, rent it at Blockbuster, or wait for it to air on cable or become available on Pay Per View.
Today, you can instantly watch just about any movie you like, thanks to the myriad streaming services that exist. I don’t know about you, but as of late it seems as if every single day I hear about a new premium streaming service. Every company wants in on this extremely lucrative and rapidly growing industry. This is especially true in India. Nowhere else in the world is the streaming industry expanding at the same rate as it has been in India over the last, say, 4 or 5 years.
Sure, all of the classic streaming sites are available in India. There is Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, etc. But in addition to these, there has also been an explosion of cable companies, channels, and even cellphone networks who are each propping up their own alternative to Netflix and co. The end result, of course, if you want access to all of the content that is available, is that you might end up breaking the bank.
Each service, naturally, comes with its own monthly fee. Sometimes these fees can be on the lower end, such as with Disney Plus and Netflix’s most basic plan … other times, though, gaining access to streaming sites is far from affordable. This is especially true when it comes to those that require a traditional cable provider in order to log in. For these, you are often looking at like $60 a month (at least!).
There must be a way to stream movies and TV shows without going broke, right? Well, thanks to the wealth of free movie and TV streaming sites on the web, this is 100% possible. Anybody who has experience browsing through some of the countless free movie streaming sites in existence, though, knows all too well that finding a quality free movie streaming site is easier said than done.
First of all, there are just too many free streaming sites out there to choose from. So many, in fact, that it can seem like an impossibility to know one from the other. Plus, once you do start to feel as if you have a handle on the free movie streaming site scene, there are new ones going live and old ones being taken down all the time. It is certainly no easy feat to filter through all of the free movie streaming sites in order to figure out which are worth your time and energy.
Plus, there is the problem of finding a safe and legitimate free streaming site. They are definitely not all created equal. Free movie streaming sites have something of a bad rap because, well, there are quite a few of them out there that resort to somewhat dodgy and sometimes downright illicit behavior. Invasive and obnoxious ads, for instance, are common on sites like these. Another problem that people tend to have with them is the fact that they can sometimes house malware or trackers, making some sites simply unsafe.
This is why I write these reviews here at StreamingSites.com, though. If you are ever unsure about a streaming site, visit my site and I will be sure to give you the objective, honest truth about it. Not only do I provide in-depth and thoughtful reviews of every streaming site here in this index, but I also try my best to simply ignore the sites that are subpar or in any way malicious. My goal is to only provide reviews of the best free movie streaming sites.
So, where does that leave a free movie streaming site such as Movies Papa? Well, there is only one way to find out for sure … and that is to take an in-depth look at everything that this site has to offer. We will evaluate this site based on its web design and user experience, breadth of content and features, mobile experience, and more. By the end of this review, we will have figured out whether Movies Papa is, indeed, one of the best free movie streaming sites on the web.
Frankly, I do not think that Movies Papa makes the best first impression that it could. This site’s design is basic, simplistic, rudimentary. There is nothing about this site that I could call “intuitive” or “dynamic” in any way. It is, I would say, a bit sloppy, cumbersome, and amateurish.
When you first visit moviespapa.support, you will be greeted by a light gray and blue theme. The background is that sort of default gray, the tags and tabs of the site pop in a vibrant sky blue. The color scheme, however, is not the issue that I take with the site. It is less about the way that the site looks for me, and more about the functionality and lack of grace inherent in the user experience.
Here’s a good example of what I mean: In the section labeled “Latest Movies,” there is a gallery of thumbnails presented (as is to be expected). The problem here, however, lies in the fact that there are several versions of the same title presented side by side one another. This is because they are different quality streams (720p vs. 450 vs. 1080p, etc.).
This is extremely ineffective site design, if you ask me. The obvious solution to this problem would be to link all of these different versions under one presentation of each movie. Let the viewer choose on a streaming quality once he has made his selection … this just makes the site look cluttered, sloppy, and unprofessional.
Secondly, you may be familiar with the typical streaming site layout. Think Netflix, how the site (or app) splits content up by category, each section offering its own side-scrolling collection of titles. This has become something of the go-to design choice for sites like this because, well, it is the most convenient way to browse. Movies Papa, however, simply makes its users browse the latest movies by clicking through hundreds of pages. That being said, to the site’s credit, there is, at least, a collection of tags at the top of the home page. This does make for slightly easier browsing … but it is hardly enough, in my opinion.
Content and Features
One thing that Movies Papa does have going for it, though, is the fact that each title comes complete with a large collection of screenshots of the file in question, as well as all relevant credit and release information. This should give you a bit of a better idea, at least, of what to expect before clicking blindly into a third-party download or streaming site.
What about the type of free streaming movies that you can expect to find at Movies Papa? Well, it looks like almost all of the movies are Indian, many of which are in Hindi. The site, though, also offers Nepali movies, Gujarti movies, Arabic movies, Tamil movies, Bengali movies, and more. A definite strength of Movies Papa is its diverse selection of content.
Mobile and Desktop Experience
I was unable to find a mobile app for Movies Papa. I did, however, come across a Google Chrome extension, which allows for quick and easy searching of the Movies Papa database in order to access free movie streaming and download links instantly.
Even though there is no Movies Papa mobile app, the mobile version of the site at least makes an attempt at being optimized. The layout, for instance, changes to better fit mobile screens, so, mobile movie streaming is possible.
